“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.” ~ Proverbs 17:17

Triark Project is a pioneering initiative aimed at reshaping America’s perception of Guatemala by highlighting the historical ties between Guatemala and Israel. Our mission is to raise awareness of Guatemala’s significant role in supporting Israel and to provide educational and scholarship opportunities for Guatemalan and Guatemalan-American individuals to travel to Israel and the United States. With time, we aspire to extend this program to include Honduran and Honduran-American participants, with the goal of involving El Salvador and El Salvador-Americans as well.

While it is widely acknowledged that “There is no greater friend of Israel than the United States,” misconceptions have hindered Guatemala from receiving similar recognition. By emphasizing shared values and histories, we aim to bridge this gap and foster stronger ties between Guatemala and the United States.

NONPROFIT BACKGROUND

Our initiative is inspired by the legacy of individuals like Dr. Jorge García Granados, Guatemala’s ambassador to the UN, who played a pivotal role in the creation of Israel. Guatemala’s unwavering support for Israel, exemplified by its recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, underscores the depth of this friendship.

MISSION

Our non-profit’s mission is to formalize and celebrate the enduring friendship between Guatemala and Israel. Initially, we plan to offer educational tours to Israel for young Guatemalans, akin to Jewish Birthright trips, promoting cultural exchange and understanding. Over time, we aim to expand our efforts by providing scholarship opportunities for study in Israel or at Christian, Mormon, or Jewish universities in the United States.

SUMMARY

Guatemala’s unique friendship with Israel is a beacon of positivity that deserves recognition and support. By providing opportunities for Guatemalans to visit Israel and fostering cultural exchange, we aim to strengthen this bond and promote mutual understanding. We envision this initiative as a reciprocal exchange, attracting visitors from Israel and the United States to Guatemala and further deepening this special friendship.
